Selmer Super Balanced Action Alto Saxophone

This 1948 saxophone (#36,XXX) is a great example of an early Selmer Super Balanced Action, considered by many to be the design that set the tone for the modern saxophone.  This model was the first Selmer saxophone to feature offset tone holes in the upper and lower stacks, and this change was embraced by saxophonists of the time. This particular saxophone has a rich, focused, ringing sound. It shows normal signs of wear for it’s age and has not been re-lacquered. If you are looking for a saxophone with a history, come and play this beauty!

This instrument has gone through our shop for a full check-up and has been put in top playing condition.  It has had pads leveled and any necessary adjustments made.
